Allen William Pelon walked out his purpose. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on April 14th, 1937 to Henry and Elizabeth Pelon. Al was the middle child – he had an older brother, Will and a younger brother, Jack. He graduated from Denver Christian High School as Class President, served 6 years in the Air Force Reserves, and worked for the Public Service Company for 37 years. He was the pitcher for a fast pitch softball team for about 20 years and he also played in men’s competitive basketball leagues.
Al walked out his purpose. Al loved his family. He married Phyllis Fink on December 6, 1958. To this union were born four children, Steven (who they lost at birth), Dan, Randy and Heather. He thoroughly enjoyed camping and cruising with his family. He loved watching his grandsons, Joshua, Aaron and James grow up. He conveyed his love of basketball to them and he and Phyllis attended every function and every game they could. Al and Phyllis provided many cruises for their family – an entourage of Al, Phyllis, Dan, Linda, Randy, Heather, Joshua, Aaron and James! A precious opportunity to explore the world, build amazing memories, and strengthen family bonds.
Al walked out his purpose. He loved God. His life’s journey was often difficult, yet he was a great role model of a good, kind, and generous man who loved Jesus. His legacy lives on in the family he was so proud of and loved so dearly. Al & Phyllis have attended Arvada Covenant Church for many years.
Al passed from his earthly life in Golden, Colorado on Monday, October 12th, 2020. Al is survived by his wife Phyllis, son Dan, daughter-in-law Linda, son Randy, daughter Heather and grandsons Joshua, Aaron, James and his brother Jack and wife Beth.
Al walked out his purpose – he made a difference to the lives around him. He will be greatly missed.
