

Born in Fort Lupton, CO on 19 March 1935, Barbara was the youngest of six children born to Jesse Henderson and Cecil Lillian Snow Sawyer. She lived the majority of her life in Colorado; the last 42 years in Lakewood. Married and widowed at a young age, she worked to be self-sufficient all of her life.
Barbara was the mother of two sons, William Gene Cox, Jr. and John Dean Cox. She was always very proud of her sons and their families.
She was preceded in death by her son William “Bill”. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Jesse (Arvetta), James (Ruth) and William “Bill” (Linda); her sister Frances Reed (Lacy) and infant sister Catherine “Kitty” Sawyer; her husbands O.Tommy Gray and Floyd Overstreet; and four nephews.
She was survived by son John (Diane); grandsons, Nathan, Aaron (Amanda Noble), and Brian (Katie) Cox, Patrick (Danette) and Matthew (Amber Biltoft) Cox; six great grandchildren Matthew, Camara, Kassidy, Xander and Paisley Cox, and Charlotte Martin; plus three step-great grandchildren Saylor and Faith Biltoft and Landon Jonas.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Wheatridge, CO. Live Streaming will also be available through the mortuary website. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery and Memorial Park in Omaha, NE.
