Bluford "Blu" Plemons was born in Amarillo, Texas on November 10, 1927 and died on September 30, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian, father Bluford, his beloved wife Darlene, his sister Shirley Maddox and sister Pat Acierno. He leaves behind a sister Jean, 2 daughters Vicky (Jim) Linda (Chuck), 2 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 5 great grandsons and 1 great great grandson and 1 great great granddaughter.
Blu arrived in Denver in 1937. He loved the green grass and weather and wonderful tasting water. His family took up residence 1 block from Lakeside Amusement Park and Speedward and immediately fell in love with racing. At a very young age he started a bicycle route in North Denver that eventually turned into a car route. Blu continued throwing papers for 30 years as a side job. He became an iron worker in the 50's and worked on many landmarks in the Denver area, including the missile sight in Deer Trail, Rock Flats and the Boulder Reservoir dam. In 1960 he bought Doug's Towing from his good friend Doug Plue and along with his wife, Darlene ran the business until 1992, when he retired.

A "Celebration of Life" is planned for Blu at Olinger Crown Hill Chapel at 2:00pm on October 16, 2021. A visitation is scheduled for October 15, 2021 from 4-7 at Olinger Crown Hill.
