Descended from Colorado pioneer families, Bonnie Rae Stebbins was born in Denver to Raymond Hardy Stebbins and Persis Duncan Stebbins on December 19, 1940. In 1943, her family moved to Wheat Ridge. Bonnie graduated from Wheat Ridge High School.
After one year of college in California, Bonnie returned to attend the University of Colorado. There she joined Alpha Chi Omega which became an important lifelong association. Bonnie graduated with a degree in political science.
Bonnie moved to San Francisco where she met and married Robert A. Streeter Jr. They lived in Maine. Bob taught high school and Bonnie worked as a substitute. Summers were spent working at Camp Kingsley, a traditional eastern boy's camp founded by Bob's parents. Sadly, Bob passed away in 1967. She returned to Denver and worked in retail human resources.
Most of her working years were spent at the Colorado State Senate. Bonnie became a member of the Front Desk Staff, preparing daily calendars during the legislative session.
After retirement, Bonnie enjoyed working in her garden. She served on the board of her homeowners association. Her real joy was traveling the world and visiting every continent.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her two sisters, Mary Jean Fitzmaurice and Barbara Johnson. Survived by nieces Mimi Ulrich and Carol Ladiges from Aurora, Co and nephews David and Timothy Fitzmaurice from New Jersey and Jay Johnson from California, great nephew Jake Ulrich, great niece Rachel Parker and Rachel's two daughters.
