

Carol passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, December 19, after suffering a stroke on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Carol was born on December 3, 1938, in Julesburg, CO and grew up on a farm with her parents and sister.
After graduating from high school she moved to Denver to attend Business College. While living in Denver she met Fred Handel, they married on October 5, 1957 and made their home in Arvada, CO.
Carol was a stay at home Mom focused on raising her family. After the kids were grown she worked for 15 years as a medical bookkeeper at Western Urologic. She was an avid reader and enjoyed making beautiful crafts, decorating, and collecting antiques.
Carol and Fred accomplished their dream of traveling to all 50 states. After their retirement they purchased a vacation home in Estes Park where they spent 14 years enjoying nature, wildlife, and walks at the lake. Many weekends were spent playing putt putt golf and watching their grandson race go carts.
Her parents Oscar and Ella Miller, her husband of 53 years, Fred, and one baby daughter Kerri Lynn, precede Carol in death. She is survived by her son Bill, daughter Dana Goddard (Bryan), beloved grandson Bryan Goddard Jr, sister Janice, many friends, nieces and nephews.
A private memorial is planned at Crown Hill Cemetery.
