She lived her life passionately. She was a dedicated sports fan. She loved going to Bronco games. She also avidly followed the Rockies, Avalanche, Nascar and the San Francisco Giants.
She spent as much time as possible outdoors. Being active was key to her happiness. Running, lifting weights, hiking and bicycling were all activities she enjoyed.
She loved music, especially 80’s New Wave, Michael Jackson and The Grateful Dead. She enjoyed putting together high-energy playlists for her workouts.
Cutting hair and physical fitness were her lifelong vocations. She was a licensed professional cosmetologist and a certified personal trainer. Her clients appreciated her talent and training and her dedication to making them look and feel their best.
The years that she shared with her husband Ed were her most joyful. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with him. They created a happy home and shared an adventurous life. They went skiing to Vail and Keystone and A-Basin, which was her favorite. When at home, they went to sporting events together and found fun in everyday activities.
Ed cherished Carolyn and showered her with love, attention and presents—which she loved. He was her best friend and always found ways to let her know how much she meant to him.
Carolyn found faith, peace and salvation in Jesus Christ. She had a strong sense of service and love for her friends. She especially took the time to look after the elderly people in her life. She also loved animals. She would often go to the animal shelter to play with the cats and dogs.
Carolyn will be remembered for her smile, warmth and genuine caring for all of us left here on Earth. She will forever be remembered as a shining beacon of light that warmed even the coldest of days.
She will be missed every day and will never be forgotten. Although she is no longer with us, she will never walk alone.
She is survived by her husband Edward Barry (Denver); her mother Barbara Larter (Lakewood, CO); her mother-in-law Cathy Barry (Denver); her brother Mark Larter; her sister-in-law Tina Gini-Larter (Boulder) and her sister Liz Larter (Arvada, CO).
