Chamiene Romero was born September 11, 1963 in Denver, Colorado. Chamiene is survived by her son Austin (18); her parents, Edward O. Romero and Mary Salas Romero; as well as 2 of her brothers, Edward M. Romero and Jason (Laura) Romero. She was preceded in death by her third brother, Jeffrey Romero. She had a very close relationship with her Aunt Rosella Chavez, her six nieces and nephews, and her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
There was nothing Chamiene was more proud of than her son. She raised a respectful and caring boy who turned into a respectful and caring man seemingly overnight. She loved Austin more than anything in the world, and will be watching over him from heaven.
Chamiene worked for Lockheed Martin for 29 years and has a very successful career. She received numerous awards and recognition for her years of service and project work. There she met some of her closest friends and confidants. Her family is thankful for all the support received from Lockheed Martin and its employees over the years.
Chamiene was a kind and loving person. She was accepting of others and was a loyal friend. She never raised her voice or spoke harshly to another person. She was the go-to babysitter for many family members because of her caring nature. She loved babies and was first to volunteer to change a diaper or make a bottle.
Chamiene was not a “girly-girl,” when she was growing up she preferred to play football outside with the boys to learning any domestic skills. Friends and family laugh when they describe Chamiene’s aversion to cooking and cleaning. She never learned how to cook, and would always be assigned “chips and dip” when attending a potluck.
Far too soon, Chamiene was taken home to the Lord. She touched so many lives, and will never be forgotten.
