

He went to grade school in Buffalo Creek, Colorado and graduated from Montrose High School, Montrose, Colorado, class of 1953 as well as Parks Business School in Denver.
He owned his own bookkeeping business for several years.
While working at the University of Denver, Charles met and married, Doris E. Burton, on December 31, 1958, enjoying 61 years of marriage.
Charles’s father, Cary Leslie Burton, was a forest ranger in Colorado and Charles would tell many tales of all the adventures that he would go on with his father in and around the forests of the Western Slope, Silesca Ranger Station, Montrose, Colorado, and Buffalo Creek, Colorado, especially Greens’ General Store. With his wife, Doris, the couple enjoyed many exciting trips to different places around the world flying over 30,000 miles.
Being an avid sports fan, Chuck, would enjoy going to the Broncos games at the old Mile High Stadium, sitting in the ever rowdy south stands.
Charles is survived by his wife, Doris E. Burton, one daughter, Cesilie Ann (Burton) Botello, her husband, Juan David Botello, and two grandsons, Gregory Laurance Botello and wife, Allyce Botello both of Aurora, Colorado, and Steven and JJ Botello, and their daughter, Melody Botello, Chuck’s only great granddaughter, all from Mesa, Arizona.
Chuck was proceeded in death by his father, Cary Leslie, and mother, Madaline, as well as two brothers, Laurance Lee Burton, and Robert Leslie Burton.
