

Bargas, Daniel “Dan”,79, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at his home in Lakewood, Colorado. Born in Pueblo, Colorado in 1932 to Joaquin & Tomasa Bargas, he was a loving and dedicated son and brother who excelled academically. Dan was awarded one of the first ever Hispanic academic scholarships to the University of Colorado. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 – 1953. Dan had an extraordinary mind and unique vision. He used his talents as an electrical engineer for many years and began his own business, Joaquin Manufacturing, in 1979. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Madrid) and brother James Bargas. He is survived by his wife, Yuliya (Yakovleva); sisters and brother: Alice (Bargas) Cruz, Connie (Bargas) Gomez, Esther (Bargas) Romero, Pete Bargas and Helen (Bargas) & Joe Quintana; 6 children and their spouses: Michael & Teresa (Weigel) Bargas, Annette (Bargas) & John Hudspeth, Mark & Dawn (Muller) Bargas, Robin (Bargas) Yarbrough, Deanna (Bargas) & Dino Delpiccolo and Paul Bargas, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dan’s generosity, dry-wit, and wisdom will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues. A funeral service will be held at Crown Hill Mortuary, Saturday Oct. 8th at 12 noon, viewing will be at 11:00 a.m.
