He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and dog-father. David will be missed by his family and friends including his wife, Cindy Hashert, children, Erin Hashert Morris and Gareth Hashert Morris, sister, Kay Hise and his brother, Steven Morris. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Juanita Guthridge Morris and Charles Morris, brother Daniel Morris and by his super dog, Keigo. Special thanks to his friend, Joe Boyd, for brightening his days.
He earned two bachelor's degrees, in Economics and Political Science, from the University of Texas Arlington. He LOVED talking politics, could tell you the origins of the meaning of "left" and "right" in political views, and was happy to see the election of the first female Vice President of the United States (and the first Black and Asian American Vice President).
Throughout his life, he was in the Army Special Forces, worked for the Federal Government, and pursued his own businesses. David proudly served in the Army as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant and earned the Army Commendation Medal, Parachutist Badge, and other recognition. David was an avid reader of Shakespeare and especially studied Hamlet. Passionate about travel, he would have been a professional traveler if he could (or maybe a baker!).
David’s family is planning a celebration of his life at the end of Summer 2021 to include scattering of his ashes at his favorite, beautiful spots in Colorado, along with memorialization at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Those wishing to honor David's life may make a donation to the charity of their choice or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in his name.
