Donna Lee Johnson passed away May 28, 2022 (after deciding not to fight her third bout with cancer). Donna was a caring, strong, gracious, independent, and loving mother and mother-in-law, aunt, and friend.
Donna lived most of her life in Colorado, especially in Arvada. She graduated from Westminster High School and later graduated from Front Range Community College with an associate degree in library science. She was married to Wendell G. Johnson for nearly 50 years, until his death in 2006. Donna and Wendell were proud parents of Debra. Donna was a library aide at Vanderhoof Elementary School for over 35 years. She loved to travel, play golf, voraciously read books, drink her matcha green tea frappucinos, and visit with friends including those in the Forest Springs, Arvada subdivision where she lived for the past 19 years.
Donna is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Debra and her husband Peter in Colorado; her “phantom” cat, Ali; her loving niece Julia and her husband Sam in Utah; and other nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed.
Donations in her memory may be sent to Denver Dumb Friends League (2080 South Quebec Street, Denver CO 80231 (www.ddfl.org)) or American Cancer Society, specific to salivary gland cancer research, (3380 Chastain Meadows Parkway, NW, Suite 200, Kennesaw, GA 30144-0101 (www.cancer.org)).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.CrownHillFuneral.com for the Johnson family.
