He entered the United States Navy in March of 1954 and was honorably discharged in December of 1957. He married Theresa Widhalm in August of 1964. After moving to Kremmling, CO, George worked for the Henderson mine, Chevron, and Kremmling Memorial Hospital, before eventually settling in Thornton, CO. Over a period of 7 years, the couple welcomed 4 children into their home and George set about teaching them responsibility, compassion, strength, common sense, and above all, accountability for their actions. His children remember him as a hard working family man who encouraged them to keep God first, the importance of family bonds, and that the marriage vows are sacred.
George loved to fish and had a respect for nature that he learned from his dad, and passed it down to his children. He was an active member of St. Marks Catholic Church.
