George (Dick) Hope

Dick was born July 1, 1931 in Spencer, Iowa to George Nelson and Lillian May Bartingale. Dick had one sister, Barbara and one brother, Robert. In 1958, Dick married Annette Bodhaine. Of that union, three children were born: Michael, Patrick and Anthony. In 1977, Dick married Beverly Barnes with whom he spent the rest of his life.

Dick served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1953 when he was honorably discharged. He was employed in construction and the printing business when he retired. He was an avid bowler and interested in many sports. He became an enthusiastic fan of the Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos and the Denver Nuggets – hating to miss any of the games.

Dick is survived by his beloved wife Beverly of Canon City, Colorado, son Michael (Robin) Hope of Denver, stepdaughter Catherine (Fred) Tegarden of Cincinnati, stepson Larry (Sharon) Barnes of Penrose, grandchildren, Lauren Hope, William Morgan, Alana Morgan, Kimberly Barnes and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Petey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian, and his sister Barbara, brother Robert and children Patrick and Anthony.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, July 5, 2013 at Olinger Crown Hill Chapel of Peace, 7777 W. 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO.
