

The older by 2 minutes to identical twin Clara Mae, Helen and her family lived in Globeville where she went to Swansea and Elyria grade schools graduating from Manual High School in 1949.
In 1950, Helen married Victor Cook. To this union 3 daughters were born, Marsha, Vicki and Dala.
Helen worked for the Division of Wildlife for close to 30 years where she held various administrative and executive administrative positions. Her dedicated years of State service was an accomplishment she was very proud of and felt very fortunate to have such a long career with one employer and was able to retire in 1993. Through these years of employment, Helen acquired numerous friendships but none as dear and special to her as her friendships with Joanne Scofield and Elizabeth (Liz) Johnson.
In addition to selling Sara Coventry jewelry, Helen enjoyed working in ceramics, playing golf, bowling, traveling, playing cards, sewing, crocheting and going to Black Hawk. Above all, Helen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survived by her daughters Marsha Gerber (Steve), Vicki Pepple (Doug), Dala Miller (Everett), grandchildren Dana Gerber (Trisha), Kyle Gerber (Jeni), Jon Pepple, Lindsay Falter (Nick), and Bret Gonzales. Seven great-grandchildren, brother Harry Koehler and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was proceeded in death by her parents, sisters Clara Mitchell and Genevieve Peterson, brothers-in-law Ruben Graeb, Floyd Mitchell and Bruce Peterson, nieces Carolyn Graeb and Cindy Peterson.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Someren Glen Retirement Center for their love and care of Helen.
