Jeanette “Jay” E. Luft, 90, from Arvada, Colorado, passed away on June 10th peacefully in her sleep. She was born June 4, 1935 in Johnstown, Colorado. Jay was a wonderful woman, best described as the perfect mix of sweet and firecracker! Jay was a retired school receptionist and loved her job. Once she retired, she worked part-time at ARC helping to organize their bookshelves, clothes racks, and anything else they needed. If you knew Jay, you always knew you could find her in a rocking chair reading, outside watching birds, or taking pictures of clouds and mountains. She loved being close to her mountains and loved seeing the deer walk in her backyard. She was the grandma everyone loved and wanted. As soon as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren walked through her door, they were spoiled until they went home, and even then, she would contiune to spoil them! Jay was family orientated and loved everyone!
Jay is survived by her daughters Jill Hughston, Jodi and Pete (Marty) Guinn; her grandchildren Dean (Michelle), Jana, Wylie (Rylie) and Samantha; her great-grandchildren Kent, Evelyn and Brody; and her sister Mary “Ibbie” Stroh.
She is preceded in death by her husband Vernon Luft; son Jerry; sister Rita; son-in-law Butch Hughston and both parents.
