J.P. was born in Christianberg, VA to father Henry Merle Chumbley and mother Virginia Simmons. He was preceded in death by his brothers Tommy, Joe and Dan and his sisters Frances and Ruth. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Miriam.
He leaves behind his wife Dixie, step children Tina (Greg) Bowles, Heather (Leon) Wine, and his grandchildren Lawra Moore, Amber Moore, Brandon Wood, and Logan Wine. He was also uncle to Matthew Chumbley, Dan (Sherry) Chumbley, Kim, Chondra, J.C., Jona and Johnny.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at Olinger Crown Hill on Saturday, January 04, 2020 at 9:30AM.
Please do not send flowers. There will be no reception held after the burial.
