Judith Rae Cochran-Edwards

Judy was born April 16, 1939, in Tipton, Indiana to parents John and Lois Cochran. She married Don Edwards in 1961 and they later divorced. Judy graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1957 and went on to attend Colorado State University. While at CSU, she earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in French. She was also a member of the Tri Delt sorority and graduated in 1961.

Judy became an English teacher at Morey Middle School for a year before staying home to raise her two daughters. Once her children were grown, she went to work at Lutheran Medical Center for over three decades before retiring.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, watching Netflix and Broncos football, solving crossword puzzles and coloring. She was also an avid reader.

Judy had a wonderful sense of humor and was very bright. Always very modest, she loved those around her unconditionally. She devoted her life to being the most amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Judy was survived by her two daughters Lori and Lisa. Her four grandchildren Christina, Courtney, Gabrielle and Jean-Luc. Her younger brother Jack. Nieces Elizabeth and Jill. Nephews Joe and Ryan. She also had multiple great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Lois Cochran and her older sister Marcia Cochran-Gingrich.

A memorial service will be held Monday December 20, 2021, at 12:00 PM at the Lutheran Medical Center Chapel – 8300 W. 38th Ave. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Reception to follow at our family home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lutheran Medical Center Cochran Oncology Award or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
