Larry John Halstead

Larry passed away peacefully on October 28, 2023 after a short illness at the age of 82. Larry lived happily with his partner of 50 years, Rex Unsell. Loved defined Larry, from his love of his family as the only child of Lucille and John Halstead, to love for his partner, Rex Unsell, to the love for his friends, especially his close friend Kathy Parsons.

Larry was born in Nebraska on August 16, 1941 to Lucille and John Halstead but spent most of his adult life in Denver. He and Rex lived in the Cottage Hill (West Highlands) area of Denver, surrounded by friends and wonderful neighbors. They had a happy life together. Larry preceded Rex in death by only four days and now they are together again.

Survivors include Larry's wonderful friend Kathy Parsons, and Rex's sister Sandra Meyer of Illinois and nieces Carole Fulcher of Illinois and Cathy Cunningham of Texas. Other survivors include Carole's son, Michael Fulcher and his family, including Courtney and daughters; Brooklyn and Madison and Cathy's family, including her husband Blake, and daughter and son-in-law Kristen and Alex Crowley.

A joint military graveside service for Rex and Larry is planned at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on Monday, December 11 at 2:30 pm. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
