She had an eighth grade education but worked her way through Beauty School and was the first Latin American hairdresser in the state of Wyoming. She opened the door for many more to follow her. She owned and operated Lee's Beauty Studio. Prior to that, she worked several jobs to provide for herself and daughter Peggy, who never went without !
After marrying Pete in 1971, she ran a shop from home until she retired.
Lee was a very talented lady and taught herself to knit, crochet, quilt, and sew. She loved making porcelain dolls. She was also a 60 year member the VFW Auxiliary.
Pete passed away June 3, 2017. She had 2 children, Marlene (passed away as a child) & Peggy Johnson (Craig), 2 granddaughters: Anissa (Dan) Sparlin & Courtney Johnson, 2 great - granddaughters: Aza-Rae and Havlyn Underwood, 2 stepsons: Gordon (Jennie and son Curtis) and Artie (Cassie daughter). She leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She loved her family & friends beyond measure and shared all that she had. A BIG hug to the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth.
