

Lois Yvonne Burke Rittenhouse passed away March 6, 2025 in Englewood, Colorado at the age of 84. Lois was born on January 2, 1941, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, but her family moved to Colorado shortly afterwords.
In her youth, she enjoyed studying dance, playing the accordion, and spending time with family on her grandmother’s farm in Wiley, Colorado. She loved animals.
Lois was a member of the Christian Science Church for 60 years and enjoyed serving on various church committees – most recently, the music committee. She dedicated most of her professional career to the Federal government.
Lois celebrated 56 years of marriage to Donald Arter “Art” Rittenhouse II, before his passing in 2020.
They loved going to movies and traveling together.
Lois was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her brothers: Layne Burke and Arleigh Burke; daughters: Kathy Rittenhouse Visser (Christo), and Janel Rittenhouse Opeka (John); and grandchildren: Jordan Visser and Skylar Visser.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ray E. Burke and A. “Irene” Harbison Burke Smith; stepfather, Edwin L. Smith; sister, Vivian Burke Mustain; and husband, Art Rittenhouse.
Casual, Western attire is preferred for the service.
