Della Louise Boyer (Langley) of Milliken, Colorado passed away Sunday July 28, 2024, after a 10-year battle with dementia. She had a long and happy life. Louise was born January 7, 1935, to Pat and Grace Langley in Yuma, Colorado. At her time of death, she was 89 years old. The last ten years she developed memory loss and lived her last four and a half years in Littleton and Lakewood.
Louise and her older sister Loretta were raised by their grandparents, Nathan and Amy Langley, in Otis, Colorado following her mother’s tragic death from a car accident in 1937. She loved recalling wonderful memories on her grandparents’ farm. Louise was in the school band, playing the saxophone, a cheerleader, and majorette. As a high school student in Otis, she met and dated Jim Marshall. After graduating high school Louise moved to Denver to work for the telephone company. She lived with Helen Eastman who had a son, Paul Boyer. Paul tried to date Louise, but she remained committed to her boyfriend, Jim Marshall, who was in the Navy. After a year in Denver, Louise and Jim married in 1954 while Jim was home on leave; they had two children Katherine and Michael. Louise and Jim divorced in 1968. That same year, Louise was re-united with Paul Boyer, and they married in 1969.
Louise and Paul traveled the U.S. and Mexico in a Greyhound bus converted to a motorhome for many years. They were founding members of Ports of Call travel club and loved every minute of seeing the world together. Louise became a flight attendant and enjoyed her time with Ports of Call. After traveling, they split the winter and summer months between their homes in Mexico, Sun City, and Colorado. Deciding to call Colorado home fulltime, they maintained a home on the Mad Russian Golf Course in Milliken, Colorado.
Louise was an avid golfer and never missed a Sunday at church. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and her specialties were her cinnamon rolls and pies. She loved gardening and canning the fruits of her labor and was an expert seamstress. She designed and sewed many of her own and Kathie’s clothing, as well as others.
Louise loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was always a very kind and happy person. She loved making quilts for her grandchildren and could be found many weekends cheering them on at all their sporting events.
Louise was proceeded in death by her parents Pat and Grace Langley, her husbands Jim Marshall and Paul Boyer, her sister Loretta Ten Brink, and half-sister Claudette Bode. She is survived by her half-sisters Carolyn Polen, Barbara Letzig, and Sharon Fletcher. She will be dearly missed by her children Kathie (Kerry) Repola, Mike (Kelly) Marshall; her grandchildren Ryan (Emily) Sandusky, Kyle (Cindy) Sandusky, Nikki (Tom) Malone, Shaye Marshall, Cheston (Stefani) Repola; and her 8 great grandchildren, Sara, Mason, Gryffin, Rownin, Delaney, Leah, Kerri, and Isaiah.
We will always love you Mom, Grammy, and GG!
