Lynne Edna Lindert was born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin December 13, 1944. When she was a little girl, her father Ernst passed away. Her mother Helen, moved to Denver where Lynne went to Emmaus Lutheran Church and school. She went to Lutheran High School where she graduated. She attended the University at Boulder for one year. She moved back in with her mother and went to work for a maternity clothing store in Denver. She married Kenneth Harris on October 30, 1965. Since he was a police officer and worked a different shift each month and they wanted to start a family, it was decided that she should quit her job and stay at home and be a full-time mom. She was a caring mother and raised her children, Mark and Kendra until they graduated from high school. At that time, Lynne decided she wanted to go back to work. She always dreamed of working for a veterinary clinic. She found a notice for a job only three miles from home at Care Animal Hospital. She had a passion for animals and wanted to work where she could be close and take care of them. She worked for Care for twenty-two years, up until the day of her death. Family members would ask her “why don’t you retire and have fun”. Her answer was “I just can’t leave my friends and all the animals that come in to greet me.” Lynne loved her granddaughters, Melanie, Taylor and Aspen. Lynne was a friend to everyone and never had a harsh word to say. She always strived to stay positive about life. Her faith in Jesus never wavered in the good or the bad times. Lynne will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
On January 5, 2012 quietly passed away at her home in Arvada. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Harris, daughter Kendra (Shaun) Speight, son Mark (Melody) Harris, sisters Dyanne Bennett, and Gayle (Larry) Schamp, grandchildren; Melanie Hudson, Taylor Speight, and Aspen Harris.
