Mairl was a native Coloradoan, born on April 5, 1936 to Jack and Vivian Pieper and a full household of four half-siblings.
He met and married Mary Lou in 1959. They continued to leave in the Denver area, raising their five children. Mairl worked hard as a local truck driver and provided for his wife and family eventually owning not one but two homes in the Thornton area.
Motorcycles were his life. From early on her raced, rode, fixed and conquered motorcycles. His family followed in his footsteps. You could often find him and most of his family at the racetrack on a Saturday night.
Mairl is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou, sons David, Jack and Ken and his daughter Cindy. His son Rick preceded him in death.
He was a good husband and a fun dad.
His life will be honored at the first annual Mairl Pieper Memorial Race and Bonfire on Saturday July 25th at the IMI Racetrack in Dacona, CO. Races start at 7pm with the bonfire at the end.
Mairl was laid to rest at Olinger Crown Hill in a private ceremony.
