Marie graduated from North High School in 1941 and attended Westmont College in 1953 where she later worked as a typist. She worked for many years with Denver Public Schools in the treasurer’s office, retiring in 1993 to be a dedicated and loving caregiver to both her parents and several other family members.
Marie was a member of Trinity Church and volunteered with the Republican Party on several occasions. She attributes her longevity to her church family, a few close friends, her long time attorney and friend, Rick, and several neighbors and workers who loved and helped her. She is survived by relative Jackie Stogsdill in Indiana, and by cousin, Anne and several other relatives.
Marie was a woman of strong faith who loved to share the gospel. She wanted to be remembered for sending children to camp and for providing shoes for choir members who couldn’t afford them. In her words, she led a full life of small deeds. Marie is happy now and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” one of her favorite hymns.
Special thanks to her end of life care takers; Shalom Park 14800 Belleview Dr. Aurora, Co 80015, and Denver Hospice 501 S. Cherry St., Suite 700 Denver, Co 80246.
