Marvin Eugene Schmierer

Marvin was born Wednesday March 2, 1938, in Loveland, Colorado. The son of August Schmierer and Iona (Pfalzgraff) Schmierer. After moving from Loveland and a brief time in Texas he ended up in Dupont, Colorado where he was a graduate of Adams City High School. He was a hard-working employee of Metz Lumber in Arvada for 20 years. And retired in 2004 after 20 years as a truck driver with National Distributing. While at National he won driver of the year and the name " Marv the driver"

Marvin most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. He dedicated his life to being a husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa! He also enjoyed collecting toy cars, doing car puzzles, taking his 69' El Camino to car shows and working in his yard.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 64 years Gail (Bolton) Schmierer, his children, Karen Humphrey and Steven (Merrie) Schmierer. Grandchildren Heather Cortez , Brian Humphrey, Michelle (Codee) Jessen, Christopher Humphrey, Kayla Schmierer, Brandon Schmierer and Travis Wymer. great grandsons Noah Cortez (9) and Christian Jessen (7). He is also survived by sister Carol (Rick) Price.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents August and Iona, Father-in-Law Eddie Rusk and Mother-in-Law Ruth Rusk.

A memorial service for Marvin will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
