Minerva was born August 22nd, 1920, in Bloomington to Merle Edmunds Senior and Clara Walters.
Surviving are four grandchildren, Misty McGuire (Scott) Keyoth of CO; Bradley (Olya) McGuire, Gregory McGuire, and Mark (Patti) McGuire of CA; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Justin Keyoth of CO; Brianna McGuire of CA and Amanda Jackson of IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lierman; her daughter Kay McGuire; two brothers Merle Jr. and Norman and one sister, Geraldine Mohr.
She leaves behind numerous very close friends and the much appreciated staff of Western Hills.
Minerva’s passion was for music. She played piano for many bands, her favorite being the Everett Lierman’s Dance Club Band. At a very young age, Everett and Minerva discovered that their daughter Kay was a natural born singer and encouraged her to share her beautiful voice. “Jam Sessions” were routine in our homes.
Minerva loved traveling, Jeeping, hiking, rock hunting, and sight-seeing across the country, but had a special love for the Colorado Mountains. At age 88, she discovered that she enjoyed Geocaching. At age 92, she rekindled her talent for fishing with her great-grandsons Josh and Justin. At age 93, she took on the role of analyzing missing person cases. Throughout her senior years, she continued to take on new adventures, some of which involved shenanigans we won’t mention here. She retired from State Farm after working there for 35 years.
“Granny”, we love you and will miss you more than words can express.
Her family will be having a private service. Minerva will be cremated and buried in Golden Cemetery, Golden, CO next to her daughter Kay McGuire.
In lieu of flowers, please help someone in need.
Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Cemetery & Arboretum, Wheat Ridge, CO.
