

89, passed away on May 2, 2012. Nate is survived by his loving family; wife Mary, son Nathan H. (Barbara) Miller, Jr., daughters; Ruth Ann Parker, and Mary Barbara (John) Dougherty, grandchildren; Adam (Kathy) Miller, Heather Dougherty, Chad (Kyla) Parker, and Elizabeth (William) Munns, great grandchildren; Savannah, and Nathan Miller, and James Parker. Nate was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard & Ruth Merchant. Visitation Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 4-8pm at Crown Hill Mortuary. Services Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 12pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Chapel of Peace. Interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Nathan H. Miller was a hard worker and survived many trials and tribulations including the Great Depression. Some of his accomplishments during his life span include: 1940 Graduated from Englewood High School, University of Denver B.S, he attended Columbia University for Navy Midshipman School, served during World War II in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant and during the Korean War, and completed graduate work in engineering at the University of Denver. He worked as an engineer on the Hoover Dam project then continued his mechanical engineering work with The Dow Chemical Co. from approx. 1951 until retirement as a principal engineer. He also worked as a consultant and safety engineer for Elitch Gardens.
He was a member of several organizations including: The Masonic Lodge in Littleton, Colorado since 1943, American Society of Mechanical Engineers since 1944, The National Rifle Association since 1946, The Consistory in Denver, Colorado since 1945, The Shrine since 1952, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Golden, Colorado for over 50 years.
In addition, to his hard work and participation in the community he was an astounding athlete. Over the years he won several gold medals in the senior Olympics in trap shooting and archery as noted in People Magazine September 5, 1995. He lived an amazing successful life through his hard work and dedication and will be sincerely missed by many.
