

Ottilie Stafford Seeber entered into paradise on March 2, 2018. Ottilie was born June 3, 1927 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She and her husband, Bob were blessed with four children. Cynthia Stricker (Fred), Susan Holloran (Tom), Sally Smith (Jerry), and Jack Seeber (Lisa). Ottilie also had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also a surrogate mother to the neighborhood children of Garnet Street. She is a graduate of Wheat Ridge High School and earned a B.A. from the University of Denver. Ottilie was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She has a lifelong love affair with the theatre, the piano, reading and teaching children, but her passion was her family. Ottilie lived in Broomfield for 61 years and was incredibly active in her community for most of those years. Ottilie was a doer. She was active in Boulder County politics and was asked to run for the State Legislature, was the first President of the Cottage Schools PTA and was responsible for its first carnival. She was instrumental in raising funds for the first ambulance, a founding member of the Footlighters Theatre Group, Guardian of Jobs Daughter Bethel # 29, first President of the Broomfield Women’s Club and the director of 15 melodramas that raised funds for seniors. In 2002, Ottilie received the Heart of Broomfield Award for her service. She was an active member of the Broomfield United Methodist Church and was the Chair of the Building Committee responsible for the construction of the Chapel. She taught middle school in Louisville for almost 20 years. Ottilie was a beloved teacher, mother and grandmother.
