

Paula Eleanor Nord, 101, passed away gently on July 1st, 2017. Paula was born in Tampa, Florida, in 1915 to Louis and Eleanor Wambsganss. After her family moved north from Florida Paula would grow up in and spend the first half of her life in Indiana. She met Harry Richard Nord in Five Points, Indiana, and they were married there in 1940. Harry and Paula started a family and were blessed with four sons. Harry and Paula lived in Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa, and Arizona. In her last years, Paula lived in Colorado.
Paula is survived by her sons Russell, David, Donald, and Richard, as well as 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Paula was preceded in death by her mother and father, Eleanor and Louis, her husband Harry, her sister Louella Theil, and two brothers, Louis and Theodore Wambsganss.
Paula was a supportive, kind, good-hearted, caring, fun-loving wife, mother, and friend. Family was always very important to her, including her immediate family as well as extended family. She was a solid, life-long Christian and belonged to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colorado.
She enjoyed Colorado Rockies baseball, Dove chocolates, and, of course, a good beer.
Her gifts from God included being a talented artist—especially sketches—and a very good pianist, who enjoyed playing piano even into her final years. Paula was a wonderful writer, and everyone enjoyed getting her letters. Her writing also extended into being well organized, with lists, calendars, and typewritten notes on everything.
Paula was a blessing to everyone who knew her. She was well loved by her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, and more. She had a large circle of good friends wherever she went She will be missed greatly by everyone she touched throughout her life.
