

Penny earned her undergraduate degree in education from Ball State University. While in college, Penny met the love of her life, Robert Pritchett Jr. Penny and Bob were married in September of 1962 and shortly after relocated to Lakewood, Colorado. It is in Lakewood where they began their family, a daughter, Amy and a son, Clifford.
Penny knew from an early age that her passion was educating and mentoring young men and women. Penny sustained her teaching career within the Jefferson County School District, beginning in Lakewood, Colorado and finishing in Bailey, Colorado. Penny enjoyed an amazing career as an educator. She taught elementary students while at Deer Creek and later taught and sheltered seventh graders while at Fitzsimmons Middle School. Penny retired from teaching but continued to serve adult learners in a community outreach capacity at Red Rocks Community College. Penny was truly devoted to her role as an educator and was honored to positively affect those she taught.
Penny and Bob began their adventures in Muncie, Indiana and enjoyed over 61 years of a wonderful marriage. Penny and Bob lived in Lakewood, Colorado and Bailey, Colorado while working and raising their family. Their journey did not end there. After retiring they moved to Bayfield, Colorado, where they built an amazing home and Penny was able to feed the love and passion for the southwest and Native American culture. While in Bayfield, Penny and Bob became Nana and Papa. Amy and her wife Sherry welcomed their sons, Henry Robert and Sebastian Luc. Cliff and his wife Kelley greeted their first born, Charles Jacob. Next stop, Castle Rock, Colorado to be closer to their grandchildren. Along came their youngest grandson, Cliff and Kelley’s second born, Joseph Kenneth. Penny thrived in her role as Nana and reveled in the accomplishments of all her grandsons. From Castle Rock, Colorado right up into the Rocky Mountains was their home in Estes Park, Colorado. Penny and Bob lived in many wonderful places, traveled to and experienced numerous destinations, but home and family are what Penny cherished most.
Penny passed away on March 20, 2024, in Englewood, Colorado. She was 82 years old. During her life Penny was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an educator and a mentor. She will forever be Nana. Penny lived a full and rich life. She was blessed to be able to travel and experience the sights, smells and sounds of many different destinations.
Mom, we love you and we will miss you, but are comforted by the reunion with Dad. Your adventures together continue. LLL
