He is survived by five brothers: Amador, Pedro, Fernando, Perfecto, and Leonard, and five sisters: Juanita, Victoria, Dolores, Maria, and Carmen, and many nieces and nephews. His parents, a brother, (another) Leonard, and a sister, Rosaline, preceded him in death.
Father was employed for many years by HUD in San Francisco, Chicago, and Hawaii. After moving to Denver in 1986, he studied theology for several years, and was ordained to the diaconate and priesthood in 1990. In 1997 he received the monastic tonsure while living in Rhodes, Greece at the Monastery of Saint Michael. Over his thirty years in Denver, he also worked at the Orthodox Christian Outreach Center in Denver, and assisted at various parishes throughout the Metropolis of Denver. In addition, he was a beloved member of the staff at the Metropolis for many years.
Father Ambrose was a kind and loving priest, beloved by all who knew him. He was quiet and gentle, with a genuine smile, and he loved all God’s people.
