I have only met Nadine a handful of times, 
Just passing time thinking about family and how I only have a hand full left, 
Though some of the family might remember me it's my condolences I want to say to you, life is so short rest in peace aunt Nadine,

My mom was my rock, a pillar standing tall and strong. Everything I am and all that I know is because of her. She taught me to be humble in my successes and gracious with my loses. She explained no matter how great things were for me, I was never to feel superior to anyone else. And no matter how bad my personal circumstances may seem, there is someone struggling with something worse. I was shown the difference between sympathy and empathy and the importance of each. How to help the underdog for no other reason than it is the right thing to do. She instilled in me respect for my elders, no matter my age. If I was honest with myself, I would find it easy to be honest with others. Just from watching her, organization became important to me, in life, in my work and within my home. That no one loves me and accepts me for who I am more than family, and those friends in life who I consider my family,

 She demanded good manners and respect for all living things. As I grew, from her I understood compassion.

She allowed me to realize the love, almost obsession for reading. Reading opened my eyes to the world. She told me "if you can read and comprehend, you can learn and do anything". She was right. My mom taught me by example, loyalty, responsibility, work ethics, self reliance and pride. She was my cookbook, grammar teacher and my spell checker. As we became close friends, she shared herself with me more and more. Stories, antidotes and writings she knew. All she was I aspired to be. All she loved and dreamed of I wanted to love and dream also. The saddest moment is when the person who gave you the best memories, becomes a memory. There is comfort in knowing someone so special will never be forgotten.

My mom was my spirit, my heart and my soul. My mother's love knew no bounds, neither does the love from her daughter. I love you, Mom, even more than any of these words can express.

My earliest memories of my aunt Nadine were of her telling me to sit down and stop popping my gum when we were in the stands at the race track. Then, and more so as I grew up, knew she was someone I wanted to be like. She was someone with integrity and class. She was one of those women that quietly expected and deserved respect. As an adult, I saw more of the compassionate side of her. She was genuinely loving and kind, even through her own heart breaks and illness. She will always be in my heart, her laugh, love, and her class. Love E

Why do we live and then just die? Is it to love both family and friends, to enjoy the wonders of life, to hope there is a better place we will be after we are gone. I will miss you so much, as I have missed my father and brothers. The special bond we have with our mother, will last for ever, even though we are apart, you will forever be in my heart. Michael.

My heart is sadden by the loss of my aunt Nadine. Her smile is one  of the many memories I'll always remember .

My sympathy to the family. I spent more time with Nadine towards the end of her life. I know from her that the loss of her sons John and then Larry were so hard on her. I was there to see the deep compassion and love for them. She had a deep love for her children, and for others. She will be missed in this life but is,dancing in the other.

My path and Nadine's crossed twice in my life. The first was when we were in the same class at Arvada High School,1948. The second being 20 years later when my son Ronnie and Nadine's daughter Belinda dated through high school at Arvada. Since we only knew of each other by our maiden names, we didn't know we were acquainted. It wasn't until recently we knew of this wonderful coincidence. My condolences to the Burrow family. May you find comfort in this time of sorrow.

My Aunt Nadine was one of the most influential women in my life. I have so many wonderful memories of her that they couldn't possibly be contained in this book. I really feel like I was raised by a village,  and living away from them all has been the hardest part of being a grown up and raising my own little family. No matter if we were with the Hughes side, the Flanagan side or our racing family, Aunt Nadine was there. She was such a big part of the fabric of my childhood. I learned many things from her, the most important of which was the beautiful example that she set as a sister and best friend to my mom. They walked through life together. Through every challenge and celebration, and it saddens me beyond measure that they couldn't be together in the end. But my peace is found in knowing that they will be together again because of their love for Jesus. And I pray that same peace, that passes all understanding, over my cousins and their families as they navigate the hard road of grief. All my love ~ Amy

We are so sorry for your tremendous loss. We had the honor to know Nadine for many years. She was one of a kind, regal and classy. We will miss her.
