You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I just want to let Dr. DeCino know that she and her family are in my prayers.  

Rich was captain at station 1 when I joined the Department.  He could really be tough on us and that wasn't always easy.  Until I realized he simply wanted me and all of us to be as good as we could be.  He made us all better.  Rich had more influence on my career and how to be the best I could than anybody. He didn't teach just skills. He taught us what it means to be a firefighter, a father, a husband, a friend. And he was a great friend.  He kept a watchful eye on all of us and made sure we were doing good.  He will be missed beyond words. Godspeed, Chief!!!

Rich was the captain at the first fire station I was assigned to in Arvada in the early nineties. I can't tell you how many valuable life lessons I learned from Rich. But here are the top ones: First was getting your priorities in order, he loved his family and always placed them first. Although I am not a father of any children, Rich exemplified what a good father is. Second was to learn as much as you can about what you're good at, and be the best you can be. Third, be passionate in life and have fun. Mare and I have shared many memorable times with Rich, Pat, Aaron and Adam. Our hearts are broken in the loss of this great friend, and we are blessed to have had him in our lives. We are truly blessed!

Our prayers are with the family. I am with the pool at Olingers and I think I can speak for all of us when I say the days Rich showed up at our service to escort us to whatever cemetery we were going to that day we were in good hands and there would be smiles .  Along with your family and friends you will be remembered within our family here at Olingers . 

After Rich came home from the Navy we were talking and I mentioned something about not having any dates in high school and I didn’t know why. He told me that’s because he told his buddies to watch out for me. And to this day he had told the Arvada fire department he worked with that’s my sisters house if you see anything wrong going on call me. He watched out for me up to this day. Rich you are a great big brother 💗

I will forever miss the prankster at Black Lake fishing lodge.  He always made us laugh up there....ringing the lunch bell, and the incredible shrinking Loretta. It’s hard to believe that you’re really gone.  The memories of us wrestling and playing football together are ones that I’ll always cherish.

Rest In Peace, little brother.

As we all know Richard was pretty wild in his teens, I followed in his footsteps, he was the wild son and I was the wild daughter and we were both left handed! Maybe that's what made us so wild!  I remember many night growing up the house would be woken up to the awesome smell of fried bologna and egg sandwich, didn't matter what time it was when Rich would get home, he always made that sandwich!!!  Now every time I have a fried bologna and egg sandwich I think of my brother!!! Love you Richie!! Never forgotten!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I thought you’d leave us on your bike or some other wild and crazy way. Not like this. However, you are leaving behind a great family.
