

Richard Wagner of Westminster, Colorado passed away September 11, 2025 at the age of 90. Richard Lee Wagner was born July 8, 1935 at the family farm near Rozel, Kansas. He was the third child of Bertha Marie (Kuhn) and John Wagner.
Richard attended church with his family at Peace Ev. Lutheran Church, north of Kinsley, Kansas. He was baptized on August 18, 1935, and confirmed on April 2, 1950. His confirmation verse was Romans 1:16, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.”
Richard graduated from Rozel High School on May 14, 1953. In high school he lettered all years in athletics and remained an avid sports fan throughout his life. Richard graduated from Kansas State College on May 25, 1957 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He was always a proud Wildcat!
After graduation Richard moved to Denver, Colorado where he began a career in sales, first in the automotive industry and then in real estate. He eventually ran his own real estate agency, Wagner and Associates. Richard enjoyed Colorado and seeing the Rocky Mountains from his home. He always kept up with the lives of his nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his paternal grandparents, Marie (Ott) and Johann “Peter” Wagner; his maternal grandparents, Emma (Munchow) and Wendel Kuhn; his brother, John H. Wagner; and sister, Irene Fahlsing. He is survived by his brother, Elmer Wagner.
Services will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, 10:30 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 201 Massachusetts, Kinsley, KS 67547. Pastor Mark Mozeik will be officiating. Burial will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Kinsley, KS. The family suggests memorials to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
