OBITUARY

Ronald M. Willhite

30 November, 1935 – 1 December, 2021
IN THE CARE OF

Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery - Crown Hill

Ron Willhite, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2021. He was born to Alma and Forrest Willhite on November 30, 1935 in Norfolk, Nebraska. He graduated from Grand Junction HIgh School, where he met and later married Marcy Hamilton, the love of his life. They then moved to Fort Collins where he graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and he and Marcy started their family.

Ron loved his work - working for the Bureau of Reclamation for 36 years, planning and building dams in the west as well as overseas. One of his last and favorite projects was working on the Stage Coach Dam near Steamboat Springs, where he and Marcy later built a beautiful log cabin.

Ron loved gardening, planning and building his mountain home with Marcy, and then taking care of it and enjoying it with his family. He loved eating out, and listening to good music. He loved a good manhattan.

Most of all, Ron loved his family. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was an amazing bedtime storyteller and took great care making the best appetizers every Christmas Eve. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his family and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marcy, his three daughters; Debra (Allan) Weimer, Shelley (Gary) Drendel, and Tracee (Rod) Henningsen, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Private services are being held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary.
