Roy was a third generation Colorado Native. He was born in Denver, the son of Roy Schwab Sr. and Matilda Schwab. Roy lived and retired in the Lakewood area.
He graduated from Mountaire High School at Edgewater Colorado in 1949. Roy enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1951. He married the love of his life, Mildred Schwab, in 1951. They were married for 58 years. Mildred passed away in 2009. He owned and operated a successful Concrete Flat Work business from 1955 thru 1978. He stopped contracting in 1978 and was employed by Walt Flanagan Company, operating concrete semi-mixer trucks and concrete bulk semi-trucks, from 1978 till retirement in 1992.
Roy is survived by his sons Ronald and Kevin, stepson Tim, brother Robert Schwab, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His three sisters (Anita, Alma Lee, Ana May) and two brothers (Edward, Don) preceded him in death.
Roy started wood carving after retirement and created walking sticks with decorative wind spirit faces on the sticks.
