Ruth Elizabeth Restad

Ruth was Born August 12, 1926, one of six children born to the late Helmer Walfred Oberg and Mildred Louis (Boatner) Oberg both of Denver, CO. Her surviving siblings include Juanita Musser, Lorraine Lisowski, Wally Oberg, and Jim Oberg. A sister, Dorthy Hammond preceded her in death. She was born the same year as three of her first cousins Bob Oberg, Danny Berich, and Betty June Brannberg. Being a “26er” was always a source of pride for her and her family.

She graduated from South High School in 1944. Ruth was a longtime employee of the Denver Public School system as a dietician. She married Loren Jerome Restad. That marriage ended in divorce.

Ruth raised six children as a single parent. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Dean Restad, Her surviving children include Loren Jerome Restad, Bonnie Louise (Restad) Miller, Nancy Ann Restad, Donald Gene Restad and his wife, Kathryn all of Colorado, and James Walfred, Restad and his wife Yolanda of Potsdam, New York. She greatly enjoyed her sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Monday, October 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Olinger Crown Hill Chapel of Peace, visitation will be one hour prior. Reception will follow the graveside portion of the service at the Family Worship Center, 6395 S. Clarkson in Centennial, Colorado.
