Shirley Anderson passed away on January 4, 2025. She was born in 1926 in Independence, Missouri to Emma (Jensen) Vardiman and Charles Vardiman. After high school, she moved to Denver, Colorado and began a long career as a secretary, first in the insurance industry, then as a legal secretary in the real estate field. She was still working as a legal secretary into her 80s.
She was predeceased by her husband William T. Anderson Jr. and by her son Robert Anderson. She is survived by her son James Anderson and daughter-in-law Leslie Anderson and by four grandchildren,
Addam Middlebrook, Julia York, Emily Wenger and Ethan Anderson. She had many friends from her neighborhoods, church and co-workers, and will be missed by all.
A private service will be held for the immediate family. Per her request, a Celebration of Life for her friends and extended family is being planned.
In lieu off flowers, donations in her honor could be made to St. Jude's Hospital, The American Cancer Society or to the Eastern Star Masonic Retirement Campus, a non-profit assisted living facility where she last resided.
