Vicki Hudson was born in 1918 in a small farmhouse in Ridgeway, Colorado, high in the San Juan Mountains. As she told the story, she weighed so little at birth that she had to be "incubated" for several days on the wood stove in the kitchen at the homestead. Though she remained petite in stature, her generosity with family and friends was larger than life!
As a young woman, Vicki moved to Denver, where she found work at the Rexall Drug Store on East Colfax Avenue. It was there that she met her future husband, Darrell Hudson. They married on New Year's Day in 1941, had two children and were together for 67 wonderful years. They were a remarkable couple who remained tremendously loving and fiercely loyal to one another.
Vicki is survived by her daughter Diane (Larry) Wall, son, David (Bertina), grandchildren Kendra, Grant and Neil, and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Darrell in 2008.
Memorial Service, Wednesday, March 30, 2016, 2:00PM at Crown Hill's Pavilion chapel at 29th and Wadsworth, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033. Entombment prior to service.
