Dennis Haney was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1959 to Donald and Lillian Haney. He grew up in Southfield, where he developed a lifelong love for baseball and the outdoors. Dennis lived a remarkable life filled with both grand adventures and the quiet, simple joys that made each day meaningful. His happiest moments were often spent golfing, boating, or simply soaking up the sunshine with his family by his side.
Above all, Dennis was the heart of his family—a devoted husband, proud father, and a magical "Papa" who brought fun and unforgettable memories to his grandchildren's lives.
Professionally, Dennis was a true jack of all trades in the family’s nursing home and assisted living business. He spent many years building, running, and maintaining the operations with dedication and skill.
Dennis was also an active member of Union Lake Baptist Church and loved being part of its community.
Those who knew Dennis will remember his ever-curious spirit and passion for new hobbies. His interests included golf, metal detecting, boating, fishing, coin collecting, rock polishing, hunting, motocross, and most recently, watchmaking.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his children Patrick (Mandi) Haney, Alexander (Heather) Haney, and Brenna Haney-Sieber; and his beloved grandchildren: Maya, Madelyn, Ava, Patrick Jr., Emma, Jack, and Emersyn. He is also survived by his mother, Lillian Haney, and his brother, Donald (Sheryl) Haney.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Haney, and his sister, Janis (Bill) Mayer.
