Brother of the late Annie (Paul) Behrend, Frederick (Margaret) Schwarze and Gunther Schwarze; uncle of Eric (Chris) Behrend, Fred (Esther) Schwarze, Linda Kurz, Craig Schwarze and the late Paul Behrend and Gary Schwarze. He is also survived by many grandnephews, grandnieces, and friends Steve Sallan and Matt Dalton.
A committal service will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery, 10755 Gratiot Ave, Detroit, Michigan at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026 under the auspices of the United States Army.
