

Harold E. Parks “Butch”, age 65, of West Bloomfield; passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2011. Butch proudly served in the US Air Force, retired from General Motors as a Quality Assurance Inspector after 41 years of dedicated service. He was a former member of the VFW Post #4156 and Pontiac VFW Post #1370. His hobbies included music, playing several instruments, computers and electronics as well as fast cars. Beloved husband of Cindy, dear father of Sean Parks, Jaime Parks; son of both the late Cecil and Georgia Parks; son-in-law of Jean and Rose Mielke; brother-in-law of Gerald (Kris) Mielke, Sandra (Rick) Brace, Jeané (Mark) Schaefer, Diane Mielke. The Funeral Service will be Monday, August 15, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 7979 Commerce Road, West Bloomfield. The visitation hours will be Sunday from 3 until 8 p.m. at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake. Mr. Parks will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until service. Interment and military honors will be Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. Butch has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations go to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church which he and his family held close to their hearts and brought a great source of comfort and strength; envelopes available at the funeral home and at the church.
