James “Jim” Howard Bennett, age 88, of Novi and formerly of Union Lake, was born October 25, 1934 in West Lafayette, Indiana and passed away February 14, 2023 at his home. Cherished father of Jean (Dave) Brown and Jim (Dina) Bennett. Treasured grandfather of Nicholas Brown, Erin Brown, Sarah Brown, Kevin Brown, and Grace Stocker. Loving friend and companion of Ginette Adams. Jim was preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Nancy Bennett; his parents, Don and Mable Bennett; and his 10 siblings. Jim will be missed by numerous other family members and friends.
Jim worked as a carpet installer at J.L. Hudson's for many years until his retirement. Jim was an active member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Waterford, where he greatly enjoyed the community and fellowship. He could always be found playing cards or enjoying a round of golf. He was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Jim was a wonderful man and always had a joke at the ready. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 10:00am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 5301 Hatchery Road, Waterford. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
