Jeanette was born on July 8, 1934, in Detroit. In retirement, she made her homes in White Lake, Michigan, and Bushnell, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mabel (Chaisson) Landry; her brother, Joseph; and two grandsons, Christopher and Greg Swayze. She is survived by her children: Michael and his wife Rhonda; Denise Swayze; Gregg and his wife Sheryl; and Yvonne Swayze. She is also survived by her grandchildren Neal and Jeffrey Swayze, Ben and Ross Gorman and Sarah Creamer; her sisters Evone King and Doris Landry Kruse; their children; and many cousins in Montreal and New Brunswick, Canada.
Jeanette was a Physical Education teacher in the Canton-Plymouth Community Schools for years. After her children were grown, she began her world travels, taking great delight in having explored more than 150 countries. She was one of the most social souls in the entire family—she made friends everywhere she went, often gaining a new traveling companion or someone to visit in another country. She also cherished her winters in Florida, not only for the warm weather but for the simple joy of walking to the clubhouse each morning to share coffee with friends.
In her later years, Jeanette developed a deep love for games, especially cards. Even as breathing and mobility became difficult, she refused to miss her nearly daily card games.
