Kirk T. Evans, age 80, was born February 16, 1941, to the late Thomas and Cecelia Evans, in Detroit, Michigan, and passed away June 1, 2021, in Commerce Township, Michigan. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Evans II. He is preceded in death by his sister, Joy Mott and his brothers, Gregory Evans and William Evans. Loving uncle of Robert (Natalie) Hatton, Tammy (Jody) Carie, Greg Evans, Jonathan Evans, Christine (Tim) Cuthrell, and Cece Simmons; great uncle of 14 and great-great uncle of 16.
Kirk grew up in Union Lake, Michigan, where he not only excelled in sports, but became a legend. He carried that passion for sports throughout his entire life.
Kirk attended Michigan State University before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he trained at Paris Island. Kirk shared his time between Michigan and Fort Myers, Florida, where he enjoyed his love for golf and spending time with great friends; too many to count. Memories that will bring a smile to many faces include: a relaxing-competitive game of golf, a phone conversation he ended long before you’ve said goodbye, parties at his home on Union Lake, tubing and skiing behind the speedboat, and walking down those long steps to the water hoping not to fall. Most importantly, his personality and infectious smile. To say Kirk had a kind and generous heart was an understatement when it came to his family and friends. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Grateful are we for the wonderful memories he has left behind for us to always treasure. Till we meet again.
