Robert Noble Elderkin, of White Lake, passed away November 12, 2018 at age 92. He was born in Detroit on June 23, 1926, to Leo and Hazel (Poorman) Elderkin. He moved to Florida in 1970, where he lived for 44 years. Failing eyesight caused him to move back to Michigan four years ago, but he considered Florida his home.
Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Philippines in World War II. He was an avid baseball fan, especially of his beloved Detroit Tigers. He loved his personalized brick in front of Comerica Park, and the fact that he was distantly related to Tigers pitcher Eldon Auker.
Bob was predeceased by his wives Marjorie and Lillian. He is survived by three children, Janis (Jerry) Franchi, Judy Elderkin and Brian Elderkin. He was predeceased by son Cary, who died in 2002. He is survived by eight grandchildren, Jaimie (David) Franchi, Justin Franchi, Jonathan (Stephanie) Franchi, Jeremy Franchi, Ryan (Beth) Barr, Jessica (Jason) Wilhoite, Derek (Nicole) Elderkin and Alex Graham. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren. Bob leaves close friends Keith Noyes and Joann Cazee, as well as his friends at Independence Village. Bob was a kind, funny, generous man who will be missed by family and friends. Cremation has taken place, with the burial in Florida at a later date.
