

Headley, Charles Ray, 92, retired Butcher for Tom Foley Wholesale Meats, passed away on April 19, 2013. He was born in Rock, KS on April 27, 1920. Charles was married to Dorothy M. Jones-Headley for 62 ½ years before her passing in 2004. Survivors: Charles and Mary Headley of San Antonio, TX, Bruce and Debra Headley of Wichita, Tom and Patt Headley of Lakewood Ranch, FL.; brother, Robert and Margaret Headley of Derby; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. He served in the United States Army from October 28, 1941 to October 16, 1945 with the 32nd Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Division in the European Theatre. He was a loving father who taught his sons to fish and hunt. He was active with his three sons in Little League Baseball and Scouting. He was the Cub Master for Pack 638 and served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for troop 638. He served as the Scout Commissioner for 638. He played semi-pro baseball as a pitcher for the Hawks Exterminators in the early 1950’s. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and served as an usher.
