I am deeply saddened by the news I received of Chuck's passing. He also was my supervisor in the lab and I have to say yes he could be tough on you to get the job done, but he new how to get the job done and had respect from everyone who worked for him. He had a VERY soft side to him and I knew I could always go to him for advice and help. Chuck will be greatly missed, I am sending many prayers to his family who he talked so much about and loved all of you. May God keep all of you close at this time of sorrow. Jeana Youngers

Our deepest sympathy goes to the Hoffman family. Chuck Hoffman is a good person at heart. I will always appreciate the fact that he hired me to work in his Hydraulic Lab back in '99. This lab was “the place” to work. He hired such a great crew. 
Chuck was a key player and contributor during our adventure with the Wichita River Festival Antique Bathtub Race. We called ourselves: The “Lab Rats.” It was obvious that Chuck really liked being a part of a team. Our first year participating in the race down town, we won best show, decoration and “Rookie of the Year” award receiving 4 trophies. He was more excited about the team win than a kid receiving the keys to their first car. I have never seen a grown man smile so much until that day! We were all so proud of this achievement. We banned together as a team creating a hobby after work and finished as winners for 6 years until Wichita removed the race from the program.
Chuck was tough supervisor but also a softy. Especially the time he allowed us (quietly) to bring in a cooking stove into the shop so that we could have “popcorn Friday's.” The money donated to help pay for the popcorn also allowed us to purchase a new refrigerator. (Which Chuck quietly assisted delivering the unit one night). Again… he was like a kid doing a mischievous task.
I will be dearly missed, my friend. Thank you for being part of a great team and a great supervisor. "Lab Rats" forever.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

My condolences to Chuck's family. I didn't work with Chuck every day, but the few times I did he was so helpful and very kind. Please accept my deepest sympathies--I'm so sorry for your loss.

This is shocking. Chuck was my supervisor in the hydraulic lab. I remember when I came in the room for a interview. I was getting laid off in the wire room were we built harnesses. I walked in to his room notice it was a all guy shop with one lady. He goes are u sure u can handle this its very different then the wire room. I said yes. He said ok. Boy was it tuff. But the guys in that shop were awsome to work with. Chuck was a great boss. Yes,he did make the best dishes. I remember his famous jalapeno corn bread. I took one bite and said oh my gosh chuck how much jalapeno did u put in this. He just laughed and said I guess not enough. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. So Sry for your loss. I always always enjoyed the "Oh no, not you again" look I got from Chuck, everytime I walked into his office. I will miss that.

To the family of Chuck, I am so sorry to hear of your loss with the passing of Chuck.  I worked with Chuck at Bombardier Learjet when he was my supervisor in the Hydraulic lab. Chuck was the best cook, and when we had Christmas or Thanksgiving celebration dinners he would always bring the best dishes. He loved to talk of his vacations with his mother and I could tell that he enjoyed being with her. He took his responsibility of being a son very seriously. Chuck and I used to play racket ball together and I only was able to beat him once. We were both the same age but he enjoyed teasing me about getting old. Several years ago I told Chuck that I was going to rent a motorcycle and go on a motorcycle vacation trip, but I had some concerns, for I had not been on a large street bike in 20 years. He set up a time that I could ride his bike and let me ride it until I felt comfortable again on a bike. He really enjoyed going on a couple of motorcycle trips himself and we would share pictures and adventures when either of us got back from one. I had breakfast with Chuck sever weeks ago and we enjoyed catching up. He shared with me that he paid for his neighbor to go up in an old WW2 airplane ride and I believe Chuck was able to go on one himself. He thoroughly enjoyed that.  Chuck had a deep respect for World War 2 veterans and you could tell that he loved his country, but hated the direction things seem to be headed. He was my friend and I will miss him.
