Diana Srite Ridder Gulick, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 31, 1936, in Topeka, Kansas, Diana later made her home in Wichita, where she built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Diana attended nursing school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and was awarded her degree as a Registered Nurse from St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, Kansas. She enjoyed nursing and worked in multiple fields in her nursing career for over 40 years in Wichita, Kansas.
Diana’s life was filled with simple joys. She treasured time with her family and friends, could often be found with her nose in a good book, and took pride in her quilting and gardening. She also loved visiting the zoo, where she delighted in the beauty and curiosity of the world around her.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, William Ardery Srite and Roseanna (Roeder) Srite; her first husband, Leonard “Butch” Ridder; her brother, Dave Srite; and her daughter, Tara Ridder Person. She leaves behind her loving husband, Larry Gulick; her siblings, Michael Srite (Debra) and Patricia Srite (John Buchta); her daughter, Julie Ridder; her son-in-law, Fred Person, her sister-in-law, Laurel Srite; and her grandchildren, Emily Webster (Nick), Hailey Person, Joshua Hastings, and Allison Hastings who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Diana’s life was defined by her generosity, creativity, and deep love for her family. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
A visitation for Diana will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 West 13th Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67203. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 330 N Broadway Street, Wichita, Kansas 67202.
