Elton P Garrison

94, retired Pastor and Missionary; passed away July 9, 2018. He was born August 11, 1923 in Mascot Nebraska to Ralph W. and Ruth Kinney Garrison. He is survived by his children Sue Lynn Kennedy (and husband Pat) of Stillwater, OK; Dana Garrison (Brenda) of Wichita; Renee Landis of Wichita and Andrew Garrison (Allise) of Kansas City, MO. Elton was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Doris Ellen Smith Garrison. He was also preceded in death by son-in-law Mark Landis of Lawrence, KS and Camdenton, MO. Elton and Doris were married in 1945 and in 1950 started 10 years of missionary service in Japan. Elton served as pastor at churches in Omaha, NE and in Kansas at St. Francis, Lawrence, Arma, Kansas City, Parsons and Edna with Doris serving by his side. Congregants remember him as an energetic, compassionate minister whose sermons were inspirational and always relevant. His family remembers him as a loving husband and father with a sharp mind and ready sense of humor. We hope he's at rest, and know he will be singing and laughing with Doris, the love of his life.
